I will have the Tuscaloosa TowerCam tornado video from today's live "wall to wall" coverage posted on the video section of our website tomorrow (Monday). Truly amazing if you didn't see it on the air today.
I will try to have it by 2:30 or so tomorrow afternoon... about the time I do the afternoon map discussion video. I am sure it will be used on ABC 33/40 News at 10:00 as well... will be interesting to see the damage video from the ground.

Tornado Watch Until 1 AM
September 25, 2005, 9:23 pm
A Tornado Watch is in effect until 1 am CDT for Central and Northern Alabama...
The atmosphere continues to exhibit lots of spin associated with the far reaches of the remnants of Hurricane Rita, which is a well defined low pressure system over southeastern Missouri. A large feeder band is rotating through Alabama, and the threat of tornadoes will continue for the next few hours.
The threat will continue to diminish as we go through the late evening hours and the atmosphere continues to stabilize.
All tornado warnings have expired across Alabama at 9:15 p.m.
That large feeder band extends across western Alabama. The heaviest precipitation extends from Limestone and Morgan Counties and Winston... Walker and Tuscaloosa Counties, then onto the Southwest. This activity is sweeping east northeastward at 35 mph. One hour rainfall rates range as high as 1.5 inches to 2 inches an hour. Fortunately the band is moving fairly quickly and it has been very dry lately.

Starkville Tornado
September 25, 2005, 7:30 pm
For the media folks, Just returned from MSU Campus (this is Mike Brown) there is a very clear SW - NE damage path across the entire campus. Telephone poles snapped, numerous trees uprooted or snapped, many cars damaged by tree debris, and RV was rolled onto its side, as the tornado exited the campus it struck the University Hills (not associated with the university) Mobile Home park. Numerous mobile homes damaged and destroyed. Police are reporting only a few minor injuries in the mobile home park and no injuries (as of yet) on-campus
-------------------------
NOTE: Mike Brown is one of the directors of the Mississippi State Meteorology program
And...below is a report from Gary Goggins about the Mississippi State damage:
I just wanted to report that there is extensive damage in the Starkville area, mainly on the MSU campus. Huge trees have been uprooted, huge limbs have been torn off trees, and there is extensive roof damage to buildings around the chapel area. Right now, the center of campus looks like a disaster area with all the trees and limbs laying around everywhere. I have had reports of car windows also blown out just down the street from the chapel. We are looking for more storms down the line this afternoon.
