Thunderstorm activity has weakened over North Alabama during the past thirty minutes. The storm entering Pickens County from northern Tuscaloosa County is beginning to go slowly downhill, with the strongest part of the storm passing near and north of Gordo and heading toward Reform. It is still capable of producing brief heavy rain, dangerous lightning and strong gusty winds.
Elsewhere across North Alabama, A long line of showers and some embedded tunder extends from southern Blount County, across Jefferson County west of of I-59 into southern Tuscaloosa County.
Additional showers were over parts of Fayette County. These showes may blossom into storms soon.
Everywhere else, the evening's activity has diminished.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for southeastern Walker County until 8:30 p.m. The activity over Walker County has weakened. The strongest storm is just south of Oakman.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Tuscaloosa County until 8:50 p.m. A strong storm is straddling US-43 ten miles north of Tuscaloosa.
Activity over Tuscaloosa and Walker Counties is capable of producing potentially damaging winds, deadly lightning and torrential rains as it moves west at about 15 mph.
Outflow from the Tuscaloosa County storm is passing across Fayette County and may fire addiitonal strong storms.

The NWS Huntsville reports two injuries from a downburst even in Jackson County around 1:30 p.m. that felled trees on two camper trailers in Scottsboro.
Another downburst downed numerous trees and power lines in the City of Tuscumbia in Colkbert County around 5:05 p.m. Numerous power outages were reported.
Numerous power outages were reported in the Halltown and Burnout communities of Franklin County from the severe thunderstorm that moved across the county around 5:30 p.m.

Strong storms continue at this hour from the Sylvan Springs area of western Jefferson County to a point eleven miles northeast of Downtown Tuscaloosa. The activity is moving west at 15 mph. It is accompanied by deadly lightning, potentially damaging winds, small hail and torrential rains.
Other strong storms are reported along the Jefferson/Walker County line.
Reports are filtering in from the severe thunderstorm that moved across southern Jefferson County and northern Shelby County. These storms will pass across southern parts of the County from Hoover over to Bessemer during the next hour. Other heavy storms continue over southwestern parts of the county from west of North Johns back along I-459 to the vicinity of Highway 150 and I-459, then back into northern Shelby County.
