11:30 pm Update

Alabama Power Company reported 204,650 power outages as of 11 o'clock tonight.

That pales when compared to last September when Hurricane Ivan devastated the state.During that tragedy there were 800,000 outages.

Thanks so much for your on-air, marathon-length coverage that was very informative! I know that being alert and on air for that long is difficult at best, but we sincerely thank you for your hard work. James, you especially are great. And, I agree with you that Mike Raita did a fantastic job -- or in the words of Raita himself, he was "tremendously titanic" ;) -- anchoring the news. Of course, Dave, Linda, Pam, J.B., and John really did well, too. Hope you guys rest now because it looks like the tropics are going to stay active. Get ready for Emily . . .

Thank you all at 33/40 I have been scared all day
and night it's 12:04 am , God has showed his
mercy once again and may he bless each and every person on staff, I live in Cordova and praise
God we still have power.
James, thank you so much I now can go to bed
and not be scared.
