Nathan, I was wondering about Helena's rain after reading your posts. Here in the southern end of Pelham I still haven't had enough rain to completely wet my back patio. I don't have a gauge so I don't know exactly how much my house has received. I do know I drove through harder rain further north on 31 closer to the Pelham/Hoover line.

I didn't have enough rain fast enough to wet the driveway under the oak tree either. This was another day of good rains close by here but nothing to really make a difference. I noticed this afternoon the red clay was cracking in the yard.

Here's some numbers for my location in Helena this month.

8.63 inches for the month
Days 1-10: 4.75 inches
Days 11-20: 2.74 Inches
Days 21-28: 1.14 inches with 1.07 of that on the 21st.
Measurable rain on 17 of the 28 days so far with an 8 day stretch of rain from the 14th - 21st but only todays .07 inches in the last week.

JB:

Had only .26" of rain from the severe thunderstorm earlier here in the metropolis of Weogufka. Although during that rainfall, looking south towards Rockford, I saw the most impressive lightning show I have seen in maybe 10 years. Rapid fire lightning for 30 minutes, until the storm had cleared the area.
