How certain are we that this thing is going to take such a drastic northeasterly turn to keep it mostly out of bama?

We're not...the track keeps shifting westward and there is no guarantee that the NE turn will come as quickly as portrayed by the NHC.

This is a wait and see...all the prognosticating in the world will not do any good...only time will tell where Katrina will go.

If I remember correctly, Hurricane Dennis did not behave all the time as predicted.

Was that Pensacola, I just saw ..... Remember ... I have dibbs on the Pensicola area... I made that forcast early yeasterday morning...I have been looking at the upper air charts and the initial movement , I may be moving west ... I dont like this , and dont like it one bit... We do not need this along alabama's gulf coast, but As James says ... We look for trends..And the only trend so far is , the trend of inconsistancy and landfall moving west. that has been the only consistant factor thus far...

Have yall seen the latest computer models? GFS has it at New Orleans!

Even if this thing peaks at a Cat 4, what I see is dry air coming in and weakening it. What do you think?
