From conference call...

NHC will be shifting the forecast track west to near Biloxi on the 4:00 package. Major changes needed to forecast package and inland impact. Coming up shortly...

On a lighter note, my relatives came up here during Ivan in thoughts it might come over New Orleans. But it turned out to be worse here in Alabama. They better watch the new forecast tracks the next few days. If New Orleans got a direct major hurricane hit it might turn into a big lake.

Well Biloxi looks like a logical summary of the models. I think we all need to take a chill pill until we start to seem some northern component of movement. The last image loop looks to me to still be no better than due West, possibly still just south of due west. Until this thing starts to turn North, we just dont have a clue.

Time could be short, yet I dont think it's wise to start a panic in an area the size of Panama City to New Orleans. If it hits one of those places, the other will have swimmers and surfers enjoying the surf.

God help New Orleans if this monster hits there at high tide.
