TV Specials About To Begin

Our first TV special begins at 8:00 p.m. on Comcast Cable Channel 16 in Tuscaloosa, and our digital channels 33.2 and 40.2. We will feature live coverage from our meteorologists here in the Weather Center, our crew in Gulf Shores and local EMA officials. We will take your questions at this address:

hurricane@abc3340.com

We will answer as many questions as possible during the special.

This one hour program is specially designed for our viewers in west Alabama, where the most Katrina will bring a serious threat of widespread tree damage and power outages.

On our main ABC 33/40 signal, we will have a one hour special version of ABC 33/40 News at 10:00 with complete coverage of Katrina.

Long form coverage begins tomorrow morning at 5:00 a.m.

We hope to stream our coverage tomorrow...

We live in Reform, Al we couldn't get the special report at 8:00pm. Do we send our children to school tomorrow or go work? What will happen here? We live in a mobile home do we need to leave our home. What's in store for us in Pickens Co.

I can't believe you are only broadcasting in western AL. That is absolutely absurd!! The least someone around there could do is put a link for an online view like WDSU has out of New Orleans. I have found myself watching TWC over you guys lately, WHATS THE DEAL!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Only broadcasting in west alabama because thats where the biggest problem around here will be. NO is streaming because the hurricane is going to be a direct hit. Come on, use some common sense people!

btw, the weather channel doesn't hold a candle to spann and the crew.

Things are always overpredicted for us in
central Alabama. Come on, do you really think we are in any danger here??

Would you expect the UA system to do anything before it is too late. I honestly dont think UA (specifically UAB) cares about their employees. If the cancel classes they have to activate the bad weather plan for hospital employees and that would be too much money for them to spend...

Uh Justin it hasn't hit land yet, and the reason their doing it for west alabma is cause they will get hit the hardest.

The University of Alabama will send out a campus-wide e-mail to all students if school is cancelled...however, they probably won't decide this until morning, who knows. The University of WEST Alabama (Livingston) has been closed for tomorrow.

shame on you for not putting this information on a prime time basis for ALL of your viewers. this is an important storm and could be a catastrophic event, but you chose not to produce this for the entire community until the 1000 time frame. many of us are anxious, at best, and trusted you to give us the information we wanted and deserved.

Shame on them... First they are the only station doing a special Second, people would be complaining that they are missing there tv shows the news comes on at 1000 and you can watch then... Dont place shame on anyone. Do you remember the coverage for Ivan and Dennis????
