DATA FROM A NOAA PLANE INDICATE THAT RITA HAS REACHED 100 MH WINDS
AND IS NOW A CATEGORY TWO HURRICANE ON THE SAFFIR/SIMPSON HURRICANE
SCALE. THIS WILL BE REFLECTED IN A SPECIAL ADVISORY AT 2 PM EDT.

at 12:00pm she had 85 mph winds now 58 mins later she has 100 is that normal to gain that fast? do hurricanes normally change or grow that quickly?

Hey Kim yes they do they can grow that fast because of the warm waters.
