Growing indications that the upcoming "Clipper" may tap into more Gulf moisture than earlier expected. Indeed, QPF charts point to one inch across Central Alabama mainly on Saturday.
Significant low expected to form and move across St. Louis early Saturday and along the Atlantic Seaboard Sunday morning.
Cold air will spill in rapidly behind the low send the 540 line south to Montgomery by 12Z (6am) Sunday...and some wrap-around moisture to contend with.
Bottom line...could be a dusting of snow NE Alabama ridges...Saturday night/early Sunday...not out of the question to see flakes as far south as Birmingham early Sunday morning.
...will try to sort all of that out in the afternoon edition.
...in Washington, snow is falling today...one or two inches expected...quite cold for the inauguration events tomorrow...may not get above about 38 degrees...
