J.B.,

I noticed the forecast for Ashville, NC. It definately will play havoc. It will be a mess with downed trees and powerlines. I know I do not want any part of that.

Can anyone let me know what or where these "close calls" are. This one missed up by a whole state, at least.

Greg, without being smart about this, and all due respect to you sir, you just don't get it about weather, espically here. Winter weather is tricky. NO I'm not a meteorologist, I just know this from living in AL. for 33 years. Truthfully, I believe if someone tried to explain the close call/s you are still going to argue and fuss about how that is. If it was say 2 or 3 states away, NO, it would not have been a close call for us. But our neighboring states having winter weather, we COULD have gotten it if the temp. & moisture would have cooperated with each other. It was still cool or cold and we had moisture finally come in. It is all confusing to a point, however you have to just study, pay attention more and ask the better questions if that makes any sence to you.

Wow, what an honor to have Carmel, IN mentioned! 8 inches in my driveway that I just finished shoveling...if anyone really wants to see snow, come on up and I'll give you a shovel! :-) I lived in Birmingham for 5 years, but now call Carmel home...still no better weather team than ABC 33/40!

Greg... this one was a close call in that if the temperatures had been only a few degrees colder, we would have had problems here. As is always the case with wintry weather down here, we usually don't know exactly what happens until it starts, and this was no exception.
