100-Minute Lunch

That is how long it took us to get through lunch at Jim 'n Nicks in Trussville today.

Met with Bill and Sally Murray, Jason Simpson from 3340, and Josh Johnson, Chief Meteorologist from WTOK-TV, Meridian.

We laughed more than we ate.

Bunches of great weather stories from the past. I collected some new material for my eventual book, Scatterbrains and Scattered Showers.

I am sore from laughing so much.

I am sure some of the other diners thought we were wacko.

Which we may be.

This is my official apology to the others for being so silly during lunch. But it is my nature to enjoy life as if there is no tomorrow.

Life goes on...

PLEASE write that book!!
I promise you it will be a best seller, and if you ever do decide to retire, you can do it in the style to which Miss Molly would like to become accustomed.

How will this Mild Winter affect Hurricane Season? Will it make it more active? Does it affect the Ocean Temps this time of year?

DAY 4-8 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0347 AM CST SAT JAN 28 2006

VALID 311200Z - 051200Z

...DISCUSSION...

LONG WAVE EVOLUTION ACROSS THE CONUS MAY BECOME SUPPORTIVE OF STRONG
DEEP CONVECTION ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE GULF STATES DURING THE
MIDDLE-LATTER PART OF THE UPCOMING WEEK. LATEST GUIDANCE SUGGESTS
GRADUAL AMPLIFICATION MAY OCCUR WITH EACH SUCCESSIVE TROUGH PASSAGE
OVER THE CNTRL/ERN U.S. IN THE ABSENCE OF STRONG FRONTAL INTRUSIONS
OVER THE GULF OF MEXICO IT APPEARS BOUNDARY LAYER
MOISTURE/INSTABILITY COULD RETURN SUPPORTING STRONG THUNDERSTORM
DEVELOPMENT. GIVEN THE UNCERTAINTY IN TIMING/INTENSITY OF THESE
FEATURES...PREDICTABILITY IS TOO LOW TO WARRANT A SEVERE OUTLOOK.

J.B. would have loved to been a fly on the wall to listen to some of those stories... we were about to go to Jim and Nicks, but decided to KFC instead... We made a trip to the Home Depot just behind Jum and Nicks.. Also had to stop at the Target..... But I would have loved to been able to sit at the table beside yall..... that would have been a blast....We need to plan a Bloggers Lunch... that would be a hoot...... Well

Wel it is beginning to look very interesting over the next week and a half to two weeks ... I gues this negative NAO and AO may have something good for us... Now if we can get Steph and her Dancing established and make sure that Dave has the Chilli started , we may be able to get some good action... Lets just hope and Watch ...

Rusty - The dancing has already started, Dave, do you think you could do some veggie soup along with the chili?? I am off of meat. Now we just need to get the other ladies dancing too, and the children flushing ice cubes, sleeping with silver spoons, and backwards pajamas.........
