Reporting From Hamilton...

Just completed the Storm Ready ceremony at the Marion County EMA office... we are headed over to the site (Bevill State) for Storm Alert 2006. I will try to find a quiet spot with Internet access for some thoughts on coming weather attractions...

Stay tuned...

It's looking interesting. Even accuweather is forecasting 1.2 inches of snow late Friday nite/ Saturday morning. Wonder if there's any truth to it. Guess we'll see what we see. Seems like the ground is still plenty warm though.

Yeah don't get you hopes up to much. because the surface temps might stay above freez. The best chance for SN.. farthest south would be around TN Sat. at mid morning (before noon). But models could change and show it stonger or weaker. So stay tuned.

My mom and dad live in Hamilton. It always seems to be colder there. My mom is a snow lover, too. The whole family wants it to snow because I am so desperate for it. They think if it will snow I will shut up!
My husband is taking me to the mountains in hopes that there will be snow. I am trying to make him understand that I want to see my surroundings with the beautiful stuff.
Some people might ask why don't I move where it snows. Well, I don't think I would like it often and have to shovel it out of the driveway. But everyone has to admit, this is the longest stetch in the past few decades without a signficant snow. I'm probably about to be plumeted with the real facts !!!
Have a safe trip Mr. Spann and keep us updated!

I have been searching for an accu weather forecast showing Birmingham getting 1.2 inches of snow... I found a forecast at the following link showing rain Friday night, with 39 degrees and 48 the high on Saturday, not even a mention of flurries... http://wwwa.accuweather.com/forecast.asp?partner=rs_al&myadc=0&trav
eler=1&zipcode=35209&metric=0
(<Highlight and click link)

Could you please offer a link where you see AccuWeather forecasting 1.2 inches of snow for Birmingham for Saturday... and maybe they've changed their forecast since. Thanks from a big snow lover....

Yeah accuweather is saying accumulating snow from T-town to Toronto. But more importantly I think they are taking a wait and see on this. The 18z GFS looks like rain changing to snow and heavy is the 540 thickness line is right. Hard to not look at that and get excited. Even the Monday event looks snowier. Fingers crossed and DYING to hear what James has to say this afternoon.

Those GFS maps did certainly look very promosing! Likewise, can't wait to hear James' thoughts on these latest outputs!
