Damage Update

I am not at all surprised by this damage. The shear showing on the NEXRAD was the most I've seen in quite a while. I hope no one was seriously hurt. The warning process seemed to work real well this morning. Kudos to the NWS, James Spann, John Oldshue, and others.

The AP is reporting a death with the storm...


AUTAUGAVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- One woman was killed at least one more person was injured as a line of tornadoes skipped through Alabama early Wednesday, damaging homes and knocking down trees and power lines across a wide area.

Calhoun County officials said a tree fell across a trailer in Bynum, located about 50 miles east of Birmingham, killing an elderly woman who was trapped inside. A deputy spotted a tornado about the same time, said emergency management spokeswoman Laura Roberts, and several businesses were damaged about 10 miles away in Anniston.
