Jefferson County Warning Cancelled

ACtivity over Jefferson County has morphed into a huge mass of rain and storms...none severe...

Part of a long line of storms now lined up across the state from Jackson County down to Marengo County...

Bibb County warning cancelled also...

The back edge of the precipitation is now through much of Walker...all of Fayette and most of Pickens County...

Any damage reports from that storm that came through Bessemer or any of the others?

so much for the weak wind fields, huh James,LOL.
next time try this.

Middle of March...86°F (not normal)
Cold front coming through (light bulb turns on in head)

86° + cold front = very stormy

Go outside every once and awhile and sniff the dirt!!

Is this David Neal?

Get real, man.

Last time I checked weather forecasting is NOT an exact science.

Perhaps you could start your own website with YOUR weather forecast.

Great job, James and crew.

Like the old saying goes, you are darned if you do, darned if you don't. If James had been jumping up and down all day screaming severe weather, and if it had not done anything, the hate-mails would have been coming in. Today, SPC outlooks us in a slight risk area, and quite frankly it sure didn't look like a "red letter day", and this guy is all hacked off about the unattention to the possibility of severe weather.

I really love the world we live in today. IT IS REALLY SCARY because of SOME people, it really is. No matter what happens, a certain percentage of glass half empty people are still gonna be there to complain!

Let's not even waste any time when someone is not brave enough to use their own name. They are just like a little ant, you just ignore them or squash them and they will go away. Someone who does what this person did is not worthy enough to spend time on this blog anyway. Good work 33/40 weather team. Please keep up the good work. Also James, you have no need to apologize for being on the air trying to save people's lives. Stay on the air as long as you need to in any situation like this.

Heaven forbid somebody miss "their show" when tornado coverage is going wall to wall. When lives are in danger, I say who cares about what else is on. Even if a given storm isn't s specific threat to ME, I still want those in the path of the storm to be able to understand that THEY are in danger. Please James, do not apologize for being on the air. If a tornado was down and 1 life, literally 1, was saved because 33/40 (or any station) was covering it live, you've done a good day's work. Keep it up and God bless you all.

great job covering the storms, but here in brookwood we felt a little left out especially seeing we were under tormado warnings also, sirens sounded only once and we had 2 warnings. and all that was covered was jefferson and surrounding areas. know that some storms were worse, but we still felt left out of coverage on our storms. thank goodness the family has a noaa.

Hey guys, your coverage of today's storms was great. Even though I didn't live in the affected areas, I still enjoy watching because of my interest in weather. It didn't look like what you guys call a "red letter day" to begin with, but like you said, with thunderstorms expect the unexpected. If I recall correctly there was a tornado outbreak in Illinois last year or the year before that wasn't even forecast by SPC or the local NWS, so you've gotta realize that surprises happen. Hey, I know you guys have your hands full tonight, but I was wondering if you would post some of those pictures that were taken today on the blog. They are really interesting. :)

I do believe I heard Miss Molly while JB was doing a report on 95.7. Guess she wasn't getting enough attention!

You are correct. Little Miss Molly came running in my weather office wanting to play and barked loudly. My wife scooped her up and evicted her. When the thunder started she came back in and hid behind my chair. Wild evening...wall to wall on the four Cox radio stations for 3.5 hours.
