A Wild Day In The Office

Thanks to all of our viewers for the many great  tornado and storm pictures today. Here are some of them....

A tornado near the Alabama/Mississippi line in Lamar County. This was the same storm that moved  through Winfield, Blount Springs, and Oneonta.

Another shot of the same tornado in far West Alabama.

Nice view of a tornado in Walker County near Boldo.

A tornado crossing I-65 near Blount Springs.

A wall cloud just north of Jasper.

A tornado passing north of Jasper.

A wall cloud seen from Manchester in Walker County.

Another Walker County photo.

The NWS storm survey teams have another long day ahead!

Thanks for posting these. I was amazed at what I saw just north of Jasper. I would describe it as a ragged looking cloud at a 45 degree angle with cloud to ground lightning occasionally descending from it.

I was more amazed at the lack of response. People were driving up and down the road like it was just another sunny day.

If I were a few years older, had a car, and a video cam, and this happened in the plains states, I would have been there chasing them in a heart beat! What AWESOME pictures James!

Thanks for posting those! Very classic looking supercell thunderstorms producing tornadoes. The results of the damage surveys should be interesting.

Hey, nice pictures! Our church in Gadsden, Whorton Bend United Methodist, was singing at the Attalla Healthcare for the folks there about 6:45 when we got word about the tornado warning. Funny, we were singing "When We All Get to Heaven" at the time.. Immediately we began helping move the patients into the hallway. We got word from many of our members that were not with us that there were reports of sitings of a wall cloud or funnel near Southside, right next to Gadsden.

What an eventful night! Nice coverage, James, as ALWAYS!!

I am located in Walker County (Boldo community).. and I had fun tracking down the storm yesterday. Heh.. It was sunny where I was.. and you could clearly see the wall cloud, and what looked to be a tornado at times.. Sort of felt like I was out in the plains.
