Winds Gust to Hurricane Force at Auburn

CORRECTED WIND SPEED

At 7:35 p.m. CST, winds gusted to 74 knots (85 mph) at the automatic observing station at the Auburn Opelika Airport. The severe thunderstorm warning continues for Lee County until 7:45 p.m. and will likely be extended.

In addition, an even nastier looking storm moving through Macon County near Tuskegee will move through Lee County also.

The rain has eased off a little here but the winds have really picked up with gusts as high as 37.4mph at 7:42pm. With a temp of 41.1° that's driving the wind chill down to 29.8°

Bill , when you have time , can you give the defination of the " Gravity Wave " I could not find it in the glossarys I have . And it could be my ' can't see for looking ' also . I'm a big time geek , nerd , whatever when it comes to definitions . Thanks.

Here in Helena off Hwy 58 I've recorded 2.0 inches of rain today so far.

Just checked the rain gauge at my house in Trussville at 9pm. In the last 24 hours: 2.36'' of rain had fell.
