Interesting Tornado Shelter

I can't be sure this is a genuine photo, but one of our readers shared it with us. We tell people to avoid vehicles at all cost during tornado warnings, but I guess one that is UNDERGROUND will work!

Now I am from the Midwest and have seen my share of shelters, but this by far takes the cake! I don't know much about red necks down south but I think this is what some people may describe as a RED NECK Tornado Shelter. I bet it works though:)

I love the way the word "school" is covered up before the word "bus"! :) Like we didn't already know what it used to be :)

An interesting shelter, but at least they do have a safe place to go, and it is technically underground...

I would hate to be inside if one of those railroad cars behind it were dropped on top of the bus. It needs a couple of feet of dirt on top.

I have some people about 2 mile from me with a buried school bus in the side of a bank here in NW Alabama. LOL At least you could almost fit the whole community in it during a tornado. :D

The one greal selling point for this shelter is that after the storm you just rev 'er up and drive yourself right on down to the emergency room.

**ATTENTION**
I have heard about that there are a lot of proms and plays that are going on Friday night. Everybody needs to keep an eye to the sky and watch out if u are adventuring out that night. The NWS has issued a new HWO at 8pm.
They call the threat of severe weather from 2pm to 11pm. They told me that we can expect a few isolated severe storms from 2pm to 6pm. They expect the most worst part of this system to come after 6pm, they also said that they may need to extend the time to after 11pm Friday night. Everybody PLEASE keep an eye to the sky as this situation unfolds and I encourage everybody to stay tuned to ABC3340 for the best severe weather coverage.

Believe it or not, I have seen one of these under ground, with the exception of the front of the bus sticking out with curtains on the windows! Almost like a little home. And of course, it is in Alabama--around Cullman to be exact.
