Storm Passing Over Downtown

The thunderstorm that is passing over downtown Birmingham now is no longer severe.

It previously had a wall cloud and produced some scattered wind damage in western Jefferson and Tuscaloosa County.

Strong storms over Tuscaloosa County are no longer considered to be severe. They will be moving northeast into Jefferson County later.

I am no expert, but it looks like the storm still has a wall cloud over Homewood or just north of Homewood right now.

I think this is going to be a heavy rain event and no other. all the storms that enter the area weaken dramatically

temperatures dropping and hopefully with all the cloud cover we had today Chris is right.

Looking at the radar it does look like the storms weaken when they get around Tuscaloosa.

Three days in a row is enough for me. I hope everyone is safe tonight.

Lets go out to that cell down near Demopolis... Now this looks like it is starting to deveelope a hook, as well looking at the velocity ... it has rotation, now the radar is starting to show possible signes of an inflow notch... ...anyone care to look at that...???

We were at Sherwin Williams on Valleydale today around 5:15 and a very OMINOUS wall cloud came over...and just appeared out of no where. I was really freaking out. Luckily we made it to Brook Highland right as the bottom fell out.
