Quick 3:40 pm Update

Strongest thunderstorms over the entire north half of Alabama was over the east-central part. It was over North Tallapoosa and South Clay County between Dadeville and Ashland.

Moving east.

Otherwise, almost nothing over the north half.

By far the main action is over Extreme South Mississippi and SW Alabama.

Earlier this afternoon, there was some brief pea-size hail SW of Brent in Bibb County. Very puny compared to last week.

Probably another bust for us in Central Alabama...has the main threat shifted south?

Definitely, Mikey

Check out the latest SPC outlook. Central AL not even in it anymore. Plus, looks like our rain is being blocked by what is going on down south.

Thanks, Andy M.

Sure looks like the SPC missed the mark on this one (again).

Mikey, the SPC has been doing great recently. Why haven't you noticed that?

They have been doing great. Just not today...but in their defense, everyone seemed to be predicting bad weather for our area.

It's pretty nice outside now...must be in a parallel universe.

Given the information they had at the time, I think the SPC did a good job (and most always have). Can't help when certain details change DURING the event.

What I don't get is why every time whether it be a small or not so small event that "blame" & "finger pointing" is done in a not so perfect world ? Guess its that customer service thing that was mentioned the other day where we all can not have a 'burger king' all the time , but we have to go a find a 'j.c pennys or macys' though ( LOL ). Just be happy and content one time and just say... oh-well, its mother nature and the SPC or no-one else has any control over it . I can allready see its gonna be a looong summer and hurricane season .

Who's finger pointing? Who's laying blame? Only God knows the weather.

BTW...Jake...things did not change DURING the event because there was no event...no complaints...just the facts.
