Early Evening Look at Alabama--6:40 Report

Overall, not as many showers/storms as compared to this afternoon. A look at some of them:

* Moderate thunderstorm east Tuscaloosa County near Brookwood and north of I 59/20
* Thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rain along Blount-Marshall County line and into West Etowah County west of Attalla-Gadsden. Some of this heavier rain spreading NE toward Guntersville
* Moderate showers in the Russellville-Haleyville-Smith Lake area of NW Alabama
* Moderate to strong thunderstorm over North Dallas County, NW of Selma. A relatively small one

Movement of showers/storms slowly toward the north and NE

I doubt if very many people are reading these reports with everyone outdoors for baseball and fireworks.

Some of us are BBQ'ing at home with family, we are having Roast Corn, Cole Slaw, BBQ shrimp and fresh made from scratch ice tea. Have a great 4th and thanks for all you do

I'll bet you have more readers or monitors than you think . We can't get away from our lifelines J.B.. Even without any exploding cow commercials you all are still the best ! How many have seen that one yet ?? LOL

Hanging out with my folks in Huntsville...I do take a few minutes here and there to keep up with the weather and I appreciate your updates. I was talking with my parents' neighbor this afternoon....he has had a garden for 50+ years and he said that this is one of the driest years he can remember. Here in NE Huntsville it is dry as a bone and rain is very much needed!

Well, I'm just checking the radar. I hear thunder from the east Tusc. t'storm. Just wish the rain would come south of the I-State a few miles!

Even though I am reading your updates on Wednesday morning, thank you for keeping us all up to date--and thanks for sending some of that overnight rain to Vestavia.
