Beautiful day here in Walker County. Think it is a bit funny though, as dew point here have fallen from 51 earlier to 46 now according to NWS. Could this be a good thing, or am I just trying to give this thing a silver lining? Would be awesome if this trend kept occurring, but think that may not be the case.

Even funnier here where it is 82 with a heat index of 81. The dewpoint is in the 40's with even lower humidity. Not very severe weatherish but I think we are looking for silver linings in a dark cloud.

Hi, I just got back from Radio Shack and forked out $50+ (on sale) for a Weather Radio with SAME. I've got it set up via my computer. So, my old reliable standby weather radio in our bedroom just sounded an alert, while the new fangled one did nothing. If this thing doesn't work, I'm carrying it back to Radio Shack and getting my money Back!!! I'm in Etowah County and I've got it set on Channel 4. Does anyone else know if that's the right channel? I went to NOAA and set the SAME codes in, but that's not the same thing as the channel. I get an off and on signal on Channel 4.

Help?!?

Thanks,
Carol

Humidity is in the 20's with dewpoint that has dropped into the 40's. I wonder why hour to hour it has gone down???

Carol...

You need to find a channel that provides good solid sound. If the transmission is not solid, it will not provide a good signal. Try moving the unit around in the house. Also, put it on monitor and adjust the antenna & channel until you get a good transmission.

Carol..

Same code for Etowah is: 001055

This is the FREQ. you should be using: 162.475

Carol You need to have your antinna facing toward the southeast sky to pick up the station.
This is a map:

Carol yes I believe that it is channel 4.
162.475 (channel 4) is the Freq. you need your weather radio set to.

The SAME code you need to program your weather radio for Etowah is: 001055

Also face your weather radio to the southeast sky of your house, that side will pick the station up the best.
