Signiificant weather alert now for much of Central Alabama...
Talladega/Clay...storm that showed rotation and produced a funnel cloud in Talladega County is passing into Clay County. It will pass near Ashland and Lineville.
The rotation occurred at the leading edge of a gust front, or the tremendous outflow of air rishing out of a thunderstorm. These types of tornadoes are called "gustnadoes."
Calhoun/Cleburne..strong storms over much of Calhoun, moving into Cleburne County...strongest near Jacksonville...
Storng storms moving across Shelby and into Bibb County...but they have weakened some.
Very strong storms over Greene moving into Hale Counties...strongest near Boligee...
Strong storms over northern Chilton County, northwest of Jemison...
Storms are moving out of Tuscaloosa County.
Moderate rain and occasonal thunder is over northern Jefferson County but most of the storms have moved out of the county. 0.43 inches at the BHM airport so far. 0.31 here.

11.1 mph peak wind gust - but I think my anenometer is poorly performing...
-From the 1600 Block of Rex Lake Road - 3.5 miles from the entrance to Barbers
I was on Grants Mill Road near I-459 when the outflow hit....very impressive wind.
