Rain Still Heavy in Some Areas--9:15 pm Report

Very heavy rain was falling tonight on Central Alabama from Bibb County eastward into Shelby County. At 9:15 some of the heavest was from near West Blocton to Alabaster.

Stephanie Honeycutt, 3340 Skywatcher in Alabaster reports 1.11 inches. In the Alabaster/Maylene area, David Black reports 1/2 inch of rain in 1/2 hour.

0.62 has fallen at Riverchase at 33/40.

Some very heavy rain has occurred in NE Alabama tonight also. The heaviest at 9:15 was from near Anniston, NE to to Jacksonville-Centre areas and then into NW Georgia. Over an inch of rain has surely fallen in many of those areas.

Hey JB it's funny how my rainfall can be just 0.61 and Stephanie can have just a little over 1 inch. I guess Stephanie you were in the heavy part of that little storm and my School went well thanks for asking I will try and call you tomrrow.

Thanks Michael...yep, a short distance can surprise you sometimes. Saw a discussion yesterday morning between you and Stephanie. If you are on a hill and she is at a lower elevation, that can cause several degrees difference in early morning lows.

It was sprinkling here at Black Creek when I left for my Master Gardener meeting at 5pm. I was sure disappointed to find it only rained 0.13" while I was gone.
