Been awake for 26 hours except for a 45-minute nap...so I am going to fold up and head to the Big Bed for a few hours.

The line of strong to severe thunderstorms has moved way over into East and South Alabama. No more severe weather threat for North and Central Alabama.

Numerous reports of damage but at this time i don't know of any major structural damage. Lots of trees and powerlines down across numerous counties. Some scattered roof damage...and reports of a few homes unroofed in the Coates Bend area of Etowah County.

Some roof damage in Helena/Shelby County also.

Appreciate very much the input overnight. You are welcome to continue adding any reports you have in the comment section below.

Sorry there was one lapse while I was doing wall-to-wall radio broadcasts during the tornado warnings.

I must rush to bed before Little Miss Molly wakes up.

Why are Walker, Fayette Cullman etc still under a tornado watch till 10 AM?

Are they expecting something to build up there?

We in east Walker County had some damage along Hwy 78. Flea market mostly destroyed. Valley Auto Parts lost part of their building. Several roofs damaged, along with lots of trees down. I know of one individual that is reporting the sighting of a funnel cloud in the Union Chapel area about 3:30 A.M. this morning. At the time he saw it, it was still off the ground.

That's interesting to note, Mike. Perhaps you should e-mail one of the meteorologists with that fact... You'll probably make the Five o' clock news.

Here in Northport (Tuscaloosa County) where I live, we have had a possible funnell cloud causing damage along Flattwoods Rd. I personally went to my relatives hosue who live about 1 mile from Hwy. 43 on Flattwoods Rd. and they suffered extensive damage to their property. It seems to me it is unlikely to be damage caused by straight line winds due to the twisting and falling directions (fell to the north, south, east, and west) of the trees. All along the 1 mile stretch of the road, there are more than 15 trees down and many fences, ect. damaged. My relatives front porch post, interestingly, were moved to the east about a foot. It seems as though the funnell cloud lifted the porch and shifted the posts that distance. I also road out to the Coker area to try and locate the debris field described by storm spotters, but failed to do so. Keeping an eye on the sky here in N-Port.

Thanks guys for all you do! I can only imagine how tired you all must be..I was up for about an hour and a half watching it come through my area and I'm missing that time! This is a great service no matter what the critics say!

Hi i live in Ragland alabama and we didnt have any damage just a few limbs in our yard from our pecan trees. Thanks to all the 3340 weather crew for watching out for us!
