The Tuesday afternoon web video is on the server:

"If there's one thing in my life that's missing
It's the time that I spend alone
Sailing on the cool and bright clear water
It's kind of a special feeling
When you're out on the sea alone
Staring at the full moon, like a lover
Time for a cool change
I know that it's time for a cool change
Now that my life is so prearranged
I know that it's time for a cool change"
Anyone remember that song by the Little River Band in the late 70s? I played "Top 40" songs on the radio from 1973-1978 growing up in Tuscaloosa at the BIG 1230, WTBC. Those songs were the soundtrack of my young life. I actually didn't really like "Cool Change" that much; my favorite LRB song was "Reminiscing". I think I need to do a 70s retro podcast one of these days!
One way or another, a COOL CHANGE is ahead for Alabama, with most places dropping into the 50 to 55 degree range by daybreak tomorrow. Some of the colder spots will wind up in the upper 40s. Not many more of these mornings left until the fall.
I really don't see any reason to mention any risk of rain in the forecast through Friday at this point. Temperatures will slowly moderate, but the weather will remain fairly comfortable.
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND: Latest run (12Z) of the GFS looks pretty dry for Saturday and Sunday, which will make our pals at the SEC happy (the SEC baseball tournament is this weekend at the Hoover Met). A few showers could show up Sunday, but it still looks like the best chance of showers or storms will hold off until Memorial Day as a disturbance moves eastward along the Gulf coast. That same system could also bring a pretty good soaking to the coastal towns like Gulf Shores and Destin on Monday, but between now and then the weather should be very nice on the coast.
NEXT WEEK: The 12Z GFS continues the trend of wet weather for Alabama and the deep south much of next week. The period from May 30 through June 4 looks wet; we sure could use the rain.
