Sleet reported at ABC 33/40 in Riverchase
At 7:32 pm, 33/40 Skywatcher reported heavy sleet in Tuscaloosa
Sleet also reported in Winfield. A number of other sleet reports.

Heavy sleet on Jefferson/Tuscaloosa County line beside Tannehill State Park. 36 degrees.
Whoohoo! Finally some sort of wintry precip! I know, I know, it’s not like we can play in it, but when I heard sleet 5 min. ago, I jumped up ran out on my back deck and gave a whoop! My neighbors are all probably wondering what that was about….

Been sleeting in Tuscaloosa for a while, but it is still fairly warm so it is a slushy wet sleet. My son is excited even though it is not snow!
i am in hoover near spain park high school….temp holding steady at 40 and dry…my dewpoint has gone up to 22….wet bulb is 34 so i expect sleet at onset then cold rain after 10pm…
aside from weather, everyone steer clear of I-459 and 280 interchange….major accident with possible fatalities….just got home.

well the current observations here in Springville. in the past hour the temp dropped to 37.8 and is back up to 38.8 . we are on the side of a ridge on the mountain and this is common early in the evening with the thermals rising from the valley below… but no precip at this time, and we have a RH of 42% and the dewpoint has been rising from 10.6 earlier in the evening to 17.6 now… the time of this post is 1948. just adding that because all of my posts are being delayed for moderation….. I wish I knew why all of my posts are being verified? I dont care why, just interested…. I thought it was becasue of having links, but even my plain posts need moderation…. Thanks and God Bless … will stay on here at the weather leaders of Alabama …..

Mother in law is reporting a possible wreck on I-65 southbound (somewhere) she is backed up in traffic near the tank farm in Pelham. Anyone know where this is?
