can someone please tell me which GFS is the latest? 06z, 00z, 12z, or 18z. I can’t seem to get this straight.
18z came out at 5pm….00z comes out at midnight….06z about 5am….12z around 11am.
Very light rain mixed with sleet in Columbiana. Nothing sticking at all. I have no clue what the temp is.
this is radar…if you look closely you can see the rain/wintry weather line clearly is mississippi….if you trace it across it looks to run from about mid shelby county to north…the heavier precip will come in around 10-11…it could be all sleet for about an hour or two around bham…will be interesting to see if rain line moves to north more quickly..

sleeting here in brookwood, came off the interstate at the truckstop and noticed sleet falling. arrived earlier than entisapated(spelling?) just know that it was cold when i went to the trashcan once arriving home.

here is another radar…not good news for bham if you want snow/sleet…you can easily see warm air advection taking over in mississippi…look at it nose up..

I dont know who in tuscaloosa is reporting sleet but here in the middle of town (hackberry lane) nothing.

interesting note…once that initial round of sleet passed my dewpoint went back down…looks like wet bulbs are around 30-31 so the next round of precip could also be sleet in a couple of hours…but will then change to rain pretty quickly around bham..
Jared, I live in Tuscaloosa near Tuscaloosa Academy and we had heavy sleet for a while, then it turned into a slushy rain.

Light sleet was at our church a little bit ago (Metro at Acton and 459) and it was also sleeting pretty good at home in Moody…
