WARMING TREND AHEAD: We have another very cool morning across Alabama with temperatures mostly in the 40s… a few colder spots have reached the upper 30s. Look for a high in the 70s this afternoon with sunshine in full supply.
SEVERE CLEAR: Not a cloud in the Alabama sky this afternoon; temperatures are in the 65-70 degree range for most places. Tonight will clear and cool with a low in the 40s.
It is a beautiful, sunny day across Alabama, and after the chilly start to the day, temperatures are rising into the upper 60s and lower 70s this afternoon, which are 5-10 degrees below average for this time of year.
THURSDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND: We will mention the chance of a few widely scattered showers Thursday, otherwise the weather will likely stay dry through the weekend with a warming trend continuing. The high Thursday will be between 77 and 81, followed by low to mid 80s statewide Friday through Sunday.
A few patches of light rain are moving across North and North Central Alabama this afternoon. They should be gone by 2 p.m. mostly. Tonight will be chilly, but we don’t expect frost except in a few isolated locations.
Widespread rain is affecting the area this morning, with some thunder over southern sections of the area, but no severe weather. A run of dry and eventually very warm weather will prevail this week after a couple of cool mornings Monday and Tuesday.
